Advantages of  Graphite electrode processing

 

Graphite electrodes are used for mold making and are processed by EDM  die sinking .

The increasing complexity of die geometries and the diversification of product applications have led to higher and higher demands on the accuracy of spark discharge. Graphite electrodes have the advantages of easier processing, higher discharge machining efficiency, and lower graphite loss. Therefore, EROWA fixtures are the most suitable, and some spark machine customers have abandoned copper electrodes and switched to graphite electrodes. In addition, some special-shaped electrodes cannot be made of copper, but graphite is easier to form, and the copper electrodes are heavier and are not suitable for processing large electrodes. These factors have caused partial spark machine customers to use graphite electrodes.

For the processing of the mold electrode, accuracy is the primary condition, graphite electrode processing is more complex, it is recommended to use flexible positioning fixture, HPEDM professional manufacturing flexible positioning fixture, repeatability  is 0.002mm. Products can be compatible with EROWA, 3R fixture system perfectly.
